Dunes- and Bulb Region

The dunes along the North Sea do not only contain various nice pieces of nature landscape, but they are also of big importance at the Dutch battle against the water and for the Dutch water supply. The bulb region behind is in Spring the most colourful region of the Netherlands.

The dunes- and bulb region fills the entire Northwestern head of Zuid-Holland. The dunes nearby Wassenaar are a paradise for walkers and cyclists and also nice lingering at the beaches and boulevards of Katwijk, Scheveningen and Noordwijk. Between both seaside resorts is Space Expo, the visitors’center of the European Space Organisation ESA-ESTEC. At the North there are colourful flower fields and the world-famous Keukenhof. Aquatic sportsmen could enjoy at their heart content’s at and around the Kager lakes. University city Leiden with its rich history is offering lots of museums and curiosities from a cultural-historical point of view. South to it we find the Green Heart with its vast peat meadows and cheese farms.
