Swirling dunes with protected forests, wet dune valleys and a Dutch desert. An outstretched dunes area in the middle of the conurbation of Western Holland (Randstad). The Dutch Dune runs from Scheveningen, around Katwijk up to the wide north of Noordwijk. A place to relax delightfully or to find peace after a busy day.
Numerous hiking, cycling and riding trails lead along wonderful countryside. The dunes never bore. Protected forests, open plains and wet dune valleys alternate each other. In some places, the sand is even allowed to spurt again. In the summertime the temperature in this "Dutch desert" can increase significantly.
A lot of walkers leave Noordwijk alone. That is a big mistake. If you are looking for peace and quietness, space and beautiful landscapes you can make beautiful walking-tours. And there is a lovely fresh sea-air.
The coast of Noordwijk has wide beaches and offers magnificent views over the sea. From the view of the coast is beautiful. The beach lies shining in the sun and goes in a friendly curve with the sea and the sea can sometimes lighten unlikely bleu. And along the flood mark there are always people walking, weather or no weather. Noordwijk is with all its catering industry at the sunny residence the stopping place for walkers.
