Hiking in Noordwijk

Swirling dunes with protected forests, wet dune valleys and a Dutch desert. An outstretched dunes area in the middle of the conurbation of Western Holland (Randstad). The Dutch Dune runs from Scheveningen, around Katwijk up to the wide north of Noordwijk. A place to relax delightfully or to find peace after a busy day.

Numerous hiking, cycling and riding trails lead along wonderful countryside. The dunes never bore. Protected forests, open plains and wet dune valleys alternate each other. In some places, the sand is even allowed to spurt again. In the summertime the temperature in this "Dutch desert" can increase significantly.
