Noordwijk pairs a wide sandy beach with sweeping dunes and, in spring, colourful bulb fields, so every walker will find a route to suit them.
Dunes right behind the village: the dune area of Hollands Duin, part of National Park Hollandse Duinen, starts just behind the promenade and includes several nature reserves, such as the Coepelduynen.

Views over sea and dunes: along the way you pass several viewpoints with a sweeping panorama over the North Sea.
Bulb fields in spring: from late March to mid-May the fields of the Bollenstreek behind Noordwijk burst into colour, with Keukenhof only a short distance away.

3 Walking routes
The walking routes around Noordwijk take you through dunes and woodland, along the beach and, in spring, past the bulb fields.
Boswachterij Noordwijk: the waymarked trails of Boswachterij Noordwijk, on the north side of the village, wind through woodland, open dunes, heath and drifting sand.
Zwarte paaltjesroute: this route of just over 9 km near De Zilk runs mostly along unpaved dune paths and is ideal if you are looking for peace and quiet.
Noordwijk circuit: an 8.6 km route that follows mainly paved paths, so it is easy to do after a shower or with a pushchair.
Along the tideline: at low tide the firm sand is the most comfortable to walk on; head out along the beach and return through the dunes.

Around Noordwijk you will find 12 nature reserves, most of them part of National Park Hollandse Duinen.
Boswachterij Noordwijk: with around 650 hectares of woodland, damp dune valleys and quiet paths, one of the largest continuous nature areas in the region.
Coepelduynen: a quiet, largely unspoilt dune area between Noordwijk and Katwijk, with high dunes, open grassland and damp dune valleys.
Berkheide: open sand dunes, scrub and peaceful dune valleys between Katwijk and Wassenaarse Slag.
